I didn’t have the highest expectations when I got my first place.
It was cheap because I couldn’t afford a lot at the time but if there is one thing I do remember about the place is how terrible the air conditioning was.
Now when I say this you might think that maybe the air conditioning wasn’t working, but I would argue that the problem was that it was working. Now obviously an air conditioning system is supposed to work. The problem was with this one was the way it worked; it was loud, and the indoor air quality was horrible. Sleeping in that place was not fun. I would frequently wake up to loud bangs of the air conditioner randomly in the middle of the night and when I then would kick on and off it would make the loudest starting up and shutting down sound I’ve ever heard. As soon as it would kick on the air would make this loud gush type of sound. As if all the air was rushing out at once, the air conditioner struggled like it was on his last legs, I knew the place was old and the air conditioner was equally just as old if not older, but it didn’t make it any easier for me to handle and I couldn’t really do anything about it as long as it was working. I have considered for a little while getting a smaller portable air conditioner, but I decided that just wasn’t for me and I would still rather have a central heating and cooling system. I suppose for now I will just have to live with it.
