There isn’t much a woman can do to legitimately get prepared for what a culture change it is to go from the neighborhood to the country.
Having been a neighborhood woman my entire life, I had no plan what a change it would be to transport to a rural community.
While I knew it would be different, I wasn’t ready for some of the more subtle differences. I decided that it just wasn’t worth having the perfect heating, ventilation and A/C maintained office downtown anymore. The neighborhood was just getting to myself and others with all the noise, the traffic and also the constant movement. It became sort of physically overwhelming. So, I worked out a deal where I could work from my house and just come to the office once a month or so. This turned out to be one of the better decisions that I have ever made. It’s funny that the first woman I made friends with was someone who was transitioning her job as well. That was the heating, ventilation and A/C lady. The house I purchased had to have the entire heating, ventilation and A/C component replaced. I hired a woman that was just going into company for herself. It was an easy choice. She was so well organized, professional and knowledgeable. And she was hungry for the business. She did a good job on the heating, ventilation and A/C replacements. It’s still getting it done nearly 20 years later. And the heating, ventilation and A/C woman is now one of the main heating, ventilation and A/C companies in the region. She’s legitimately done well for herself. And yet, she is still as loyal and down to earth as she was when all of us first met. I’ll be sticking with her heating, ventilation and A/C company for the duration.
