I met my wife online a year or so ago and our courtship went really fast.
We fell in love and got married before she had even been to my house. I know that sounds crazy, but we actually met online and so we ended up having a bit of a whirlwind courtship, so to speak. We hung out together for the longest time in the town where she lived, which was down in the southern part of the country where the temperatures don’t really get that cold at any point in the year. The house that she lived in didn’t really have that much of a heating system in it, and I remember thinking that we would never be able to live with that sort of a heating system where I was from. Of course, after we got married, we had to make some big decisions about where we were going to live and she said that she wanted to come and live in the town where I’m from. I still had my house there and my job, and so that was completely fine with me. For one thing, I wasn’t really a huge fan of how hot it was at her place all the time. She had to have astronomically high A/C bills in the summer, but that wasn’t really something that we ever talked about. Now, looking back on it, I think that we should have probably talked about it a lot! Now that she has moved here where the temperatures are sub zero during the winter, she can’t stand it! She hates having to run the furnace all the time.
