So, it is super thrilling to actually have a mortgage now as strange as that sounds.
No more monthly checks to somebody who isn’t building equity for me. And even better, no more subpar HVAC, loud neighbors and limited space from apartment living. Instead, that monthly check is at least paying off something. It’s been tough and this will take discipline but we are excited. My wife and I must now get to the business of making our new house liveable. It’s an older house. The only way we could get into a house and a property of this size was to find a place that needed lots of work. And we knew that we would be doing much of that work ourselves. The first thing we had to take on was the HVAC system. The old heating & cooling unit was just too antiquated to even try to deal with. Plus, all of the air ducts were shot as well. Since that was the case, the HVAC contractor pointed out that we didn’t have to go with a central air HVAC replacement. His recommendation was to use a series of ductless HVAC units instead. This was we would avoid the cost and chaos of replacing the ductwork and the installation would be super easy. It was that, the efficiency and the fact that we could really customize our HVAC coverage that pushed us toward ductless HVAC. We are so glad we did because this is the best HVAC comfort we have ever experienced.
