When you’re adventurous by nature, there comes a bit of overconfidence at times.
My wife and I have always been into outdoor adventures.
Actually, that is where we met and fell in love. Neither of us have ever been the sort that prefers to stay inside in the HVAC all the time. We are the type that gets out and gets it one either biking, hiking or any other of our varied pursuits. Thus far, we have been pretty lucky when it comes to the physical toll. Sure, the older we have gotten, it has taken a bit more to recover. There are aches and pains that take some rest to recover from. But, we still haven’t had to be parked in the HVAC with some sort of injury. That was until my wife took a nasty spill on a recent biking excursion. She zigged when she should have zagged and ended up going over the handlebars. This resulted in a pretty serious back injury that required some surgery. That meant that she would really have to recuperate at home for a chunk of time. She really couldn’t move much so she had to really stay put. Things like changing the HVAC setting were just too difficult. So, I had an HVAC smart thermostat installed. It had been something we were considering anyway. This HVAC addition allowed my wife to use the app on her phone to control the HVAC from the bed or the couch. Not only did it make her recuperation much more comfortable, we saved like 15 percent on HVAC utility costs.
