I’m terrified of the thought of carbon monoxide poisoning in my sleep

I always make sure that I have working smoke detectors wherever I live, even if I’m staying with a friend or relative.

I had 1 terrifying experience when I was a child where I woke up to see 1 of my bedroom walls engulfed in sparks.

The people I was with and I all got out of the current home safely, however the experience left an impression on me. Never again would I put myself in a position where I could burn to death in my sleep. It might seem care about overkill to most, but I have smoke detectors in every room of my house. I even had them hardwired to the home’s electrical grid so I never have to upgrade a dying battery again. I guess with confidence that they’re always working when I need them the most. But I realized recently that I had made a huge omission when I put so much energy plus thought into having a network of smoke detectors all throughout the house. The people I was with and I use gas appliances plus I stupidly never bought carbon monoxide detectors. In worst case scenarios, leaking gas appliances can sporadically put toxic carbon monoxide fumes into your indoor air. It’s easy enough to install carbon monoxide alarms, but I somehow overlooked this essential safeguard. I have ordered multiple carbon monoxide alarms off the internet so I never have to worry that my central gas furnace is poisoning myself and others in my sleep. People have died from gas leaks with gas powered gas heating systems when they malfunction, plus I have no interest in becoming another statistic. I will put 1 in every room of the current home so I can make sure I never missed a potential gas leak in the near or distant future.
