I have a job in a warehouse that puts together car parts.
A lot of people in my neighborhood have jobs at the warehouse and the car industry is substantial in this community. A majority of my family in addition to friends have jobs working for the car plant. My mom retired from the supplier last year in addition to my dad is planning to retire next year. I started working at the plant when I turned 18. I was working on a routine job regularly. I stayed busy and I finally got a promotion 6 weeks later. I started working in the boiler room in addition to I was able to get a fairly significant money raise. Everyone working inside the boiler room deals with dangerous and overheated conditions, so the rate of pay is quite a bit higher than other work positions in the plant. A few weeks after I got started, there was a substantial explosion in the boiler room. The boiler was permitted to run dry in and it was creating heat without water. This is certainly one of the most dangerous situations when utilizing a tepid water boiler. The drawback caused an explosion in the boiler room. I’m just glad that only one person was in the room at the time. That person acquired minor steam burns on his arms in addition to his face. The rest of my co-workers in addition to me were out of work for a short period of time while we waited for the boiler repair to be done. After witnessing the scary explosion, I can see why this job pays more than others. If I would have been doing my normal job at the time, I would have been injured pretty bad.
