I’ve finally decided that I’m going to take up my daughter’s offer and move in with her.
She’s been trying to get me to move in with her and her husband and kids for the past couple of years, but I didn’t really want to give up my independence.
I still don’t, but then I had to have a double knee surgery and so now I can’t go up and down the stairs at my house. So that’s why I’m going to go and move in over there. I guess I will have to just admit that I need help. Even though I don’t want to admit and I don’t want to accept help, I do need it right now! I think that it will be okay living with my daughter but I don’t know exactly how it’s going to go with the heating and air conditioning situation. My daughter is perpetually cold and during the winter, she keeps the furnace turned on full blast most of the time, even while she’s sitting right next to the fireplace. I can’t believe how hot she likes it in her home, and I know that I’m probably going to be too hot at her house. At my place, I usually keep things pretty cool in the thermostat department. I like to keep the temperature on the thermostat set to around 68 degrees or so year round. I know that it will seem like it’s freezing to my daughter, and I know there’s no way that she’s going to let me be the one setting the thermostat at their house. I guess I’m going to have to buy a window unit air conditioner to install in my bedroom once I move in. at least that way I will be able to sleep at night!
