Last night, I went to a chain restaurant with one of my good friends; it was the first time I have eaten inside a restaurant since April. Granted, I don’t often do a lot because I am single and don’t really like to do things by myself, but even I was beginning to get restless. Even though it was just an Olive Garden, which is not my favorite place, I was still looking forward to it. Everything was really great with two exceptions. First, the waiter was so annoying. He kept coming back to the table for absolutely no reason, and he had no personality whatsoever. More importantly than that, they couldn’t seem to get the air conditioning settings under control. One minute the a/c was blowing and the place was comfortable. Within a short time frame, the a/c was blowing so hard that everyone in the place was turning blue. It was quite dark in there, and even so, you could tell that the excessive a/c was turning people blue. Because we stayed a long time, we got to see it all, as far as HVAC goes. About half an hour later, it suddenly felt like we were dining inside a furnace. It got so hot that I was sure someone had accidentally turned on the heater. Maybe a patron located the thermostat on the wall and was so sick of freezing cold a/c that she flipped the switch on them. I don’t know, but after staying out of restaurants for six months, it sure has been nice to have good a/c while we ate.
