When I looked into having the floors in my commercial building professionally waxed, cleaned and freshened, I didn’t realize there were different carpet cleaning techniques.
I was only familiar with steam cleaning.
So, I did some research to learn the positives and negatives of each cleaning idea. I wanted to understand what to expect from each method and make an educated and smart investment. My building includes many different styles of textiles, including carpets and upholstery, and I hoped to get them as clean as possible without ruining them. Steam cleaning is also known as hot water extraction and is the most typical professional carpet cleaning technique. It uses hot water at high pressure to take care of the carpet fibers and cut down the dirt and bacteria hidden within it. A cleaning product is included and spread by way of a brush to assist in the removal of debris. The hot water is then taken out by a vacuuming process. Steam cleaning takes around one hour for the average sized lake house and multiple hours for the carpets to dry, and for my commercial building, I’d need to have the process completed outside of respected business hours and allow time for the carpets to dry overnight. Another idea is absorbent compound cleaning, which is kind of like dry cleaning. The absorbent compound binds to dirt and other elements within the carpet. A brush is used to take care of the fibers and then everything is vacuumed up. This method avoids wet rugs. There’s also bonnet cleaning that focuses more on the carpet top. It uses a device that features a spinning pad soaked in a cleaning agent and basically freshens the carpet’s surface. It’s an exceptionally fast method.
