I have severe allergies to cats, but my roommate has a kitten.
- When the two of us moved to the apartment together, I knew that my roommate had the desire to get a kitten… I was alright with the idea as long as the kitten stayed in the bedroom with my roommate and out of the areas where we actually share space.
Sadly, I did not expect to become so attached to the kitten. I find myself wanting to play with the small furry animal regularly. It’s been a real setback for me, because my pet allergies are acting up a great deal. Every time I get near the cat, my eyes start to water and I begin to sneeze. My skin starts to itch and sometimes I even break out with a rash. I didn’t want my roommate to get rid of this pet, although I had to find some needed relief. I talked to my allergist about the drawback and he advocated that I buy a small portable air purification appliance to keep in my room… He gave me a list of options and told me that the air purification appliance could be found at the hardware store. He even gave me a coupon for various peculiar name brand options. I went to the hardware store and found a bunch of air purification appliances to pick from. I picked something with an air filter that needs to be changed biweekly, but it eliminates 99.9% of dust and pet dander. I set up the air purification appliance as soon as I got back to the dwelling and it runs regularly. I actually feel much better in my room and I can immediately feel the difference when I step into the rest of the dwelling. We honestly might need to buy a powerful air purification appliance to keep in the residing room as well.
