I must have an air purifier for my cat allergies

I have pretty terrible allergies to cats, however my roommate has a kitten… When the two of us moved to the current household together, I knew that my roommate wanted to get a kitten.

I was alright with the idea as long as the kitten stayed in the bedroom with my roommate and out of the areas where we share space. Unluckily, I did not expect to get so attached to the kitten. I find myself wanting to play with the small furry animal all of the time. It’s been a real challenge for me, because my cat allergies are always acting up! Every time I get near the cat, my eyes begin watering and I begin to sneeze, and my skin starts to itch and occasionally I even break out with a rash. I did not want my roommate to get rid of her pet, even though I had to find some relief. I talked to my allergist about the concern and she recommended that I purchase a small portable air purifier to keep in my room. She provided me with a list of possibilities and told me that the air purifiers could be found at the hardware store. She even provided me a coupon for various name brand options. I went to the hardware store and found several air purifiers to choose from. I picked something with a filter that needs to be changed monthly, however it eliminates 99.9% of dust and pet dander. I set up the air purifier as soon as I got back to my household and it runs consistently. I honestly feel much better in my room and I can immediately feel the difference when I walk into the rest of the household. I might need to buy a good air purifier to keep in the living room as well.
