My bestie wanted to come lake house with myself and others for Christmas! I live way up north, basically in Canada, however our chilly weather is legendary.
It is not unregular for it to be -20 degrees during the wintertime. I warned my bestie that snow, ice plus windchill are a real thing. She had only seen motion pictures set in the wintertime. She figured he could handle it though. I warned his about correct gear plus being careful about frostbite, however the moment our plane touched down in the north, he was instantly whining… His coat wasn’t hot enough. His boats leaked plus he had wet feet. She didn’t guess about gloves, hat or scarf. The whole visit he basically sat in front of my parents gas fireplace. Our lake house has more than two heating systems too, that is how chilly it gets. The residing room uses a gas fireplace. The upstairs uses an electric heater. There is a ventless oil furnace in the bedroom as well, then even with all more than two heating systems easily working, the lake house temperature is usually 73 degrees on a great morning, and when it is in the setbacks, you just can’t be that warm, and my bestie even demanded to sleep on the residing room couch by the heater. She wasn’t enthusiastic about the snow either. It no longer looked fun plus magical to her. The car windshield being frozen solid shocked his as well. I do not guess we will be going to my family Christmas ever again. Maybe Easter is a better system for a northern visit. Even in March though it can be chilly though.
