I particularly remember good memories back in middle school when I was in woodshop.
Back then I ended up making an absolutely nice end table, but it wasn’t easy.
The hardest portion was not particularly doing the job putting the end table together, it was the lack of air conditioner in the woodshop area. There was a classroom connected to the woodshop section with a bunch of laptops, then also the classroom had pretty great air conditioner, so it was comfortable. In the woodshop section though, the air conditioner seemed to be totally non-existent. It was absolutely overheated plus uncomfortable. I don’t think I know why it was that bad, but it legitimately was a problem… So I would try my absolute best when measuring the wood pieces plus cutting them to size, but I would consistently have to get back out to the air conditioner for a break. A lot of other students didn’t want to be in the woodshop section at all because of the lack of a cool and refreshing air conditioner. I cared about our project though plus I said I would complete it even if I had to totally roast to death. It took a lot of work, but I was able to complete it plus I got an absolutely great grade on our project. A lot of the others didn’t even finish their projects, plus that was a shame for them. I think if they were smarter about the HVAC set up, it wouldn’t have been an issue. That was a long time ago though, plus I’m sure they legitimately fixed the air conditioner in that place. I still have that old end table to this day, plus it’s an appealing centerpiece in our home, and people ask about it all the time, plus I tell them I made it way back in middle school.
