After having agreed to rent an apartment for a year before even being able to go on a tour I think it would be fair to say that I brought the situation that I am currently in upon myself..
- The other day I was provided with a dream position laboring as an intern in the big city… This was all great, but the only concern was that it was an unpaid internship.
Due to this I needed to locate a cheap locale to stay, so after searching online for a long while I found a locale that seemed nice. I didn’t have the cash to fly across the nation just to do a tour of the site, so I took a leap of faith and agreed to sign the lease only from looking at the pictures in addition to descriptions online. Upon my arrival though, I abruptly discovered that the place I had agreed to rent and the one I was standing in were not actually the same thing. There were mold spots on the ceiling, the a/c device didn’t work, and there were bars on the windows for some peculiar reason. Shortly after my arrival I tried calling the woman who had rented the locale out to me to see if both of us could do anything about the mold or the lack of a/c in the place. According to this scam artist none of that was required in the contract. Take it from somebody who had to learn the challenging way and never agree to live anywhere you have never visited, and always make sure to read the small print.
