Due to the pandemic, I’m trying to keep what little money I have in the bank, in the bank. Regardless of what the government may think, the normal person doesn’t have a lot of money to see them through months without income. Eventually we need to make decisions. Then when something unforeseen happens, you feel the crunch. My crunch happened when we had some problems with the HVAC system. I knew I had to call the HVAC company, but I also knew what it was going to cost. I had a friend who worked on his own furnace, so I asked him if he could just look at it. He told me that I was playing with a gas furnace, which he didn’t know anything about. He worried that if he missed something, it could cause me to need to get a new furnace, or even to have a situation that could be dangerous for my family. He said that if I needed work done on my HVAC system, I should call a professional. When I finally had an HVAC technician come to the house, he said I needed a part. The part was expensive, so I tried to find out if I couldn’t get something that had been refurbished. He told me I could get whatever I wanted, but he was not going to install it into my furnace.
