History of this house and HVAC system – overloaded with humans

It’s really interesting to me when I’m driving through a neighborhood to imagine that every individual house has had so many unique stories take place inside. Every resident of every home has such a unique perspective and set of circumstances that compose their life. When you’re thinking about a historic neighborhood, many generations of folks have contributed to that building’s story. It’s really incredible to try to fathom as you look out over a massive cityscape. I’d like to say that my house has a wonderful, heartwarming history… But I recently found out not it was not in the happiest place on Earth. Apparently, the last people who rented this house signed the lease for 2 adults and packed the place with 20. There were mattresses from wall to wall, and the living conditions were close to squalor. I guess this explains a lot about the house and the HVAC system. I never understood how the heating and cooling system operated so poorly when it was clearly so new. When I inspected the house, I noticed that the furnace was 3 years old and the air conditioning system was 2 years old. I was excited for this young heating and cooling system so that I could always rely on energy-efficient air quality control and subsequent affordable energy levels. However, that was never the case. The HVAC system ran constantly, whether it was the middle of winter or the dead of Summer. When I had it inspected by a professional HVAC technician, he told me it operated like a 15 year old HVAC system. I could never understand what had happened to this poor infantile Heating and Cooling plan… Until I found out how many people were relying on it at once.
