It’s smart to use a humidifier in the winter months

There are a handful of absolutes that I can count on dealing with every Winter season.

No matter what, I always know to expect up to a foot of snow on the ground from the start of the season until the end. We also tend to get uneven temperatures below zero degrees often throughout the nippy season, often for weeks or more or at a time. That means I have to always wear reasonably warm clothing, which includes a truly thick Winter coat and heavy duty snow boots. One of the other environmental absolutes that happens to go with this genre of weather is the tremendous amount of dryness. As the temperature lowers significantly, so do the humidity levels. It’s actually not unheard of to get moisture levels well below 10%. When moisture levels can be far above 70% while in warmer times of the year, the excessive Winter dryness can be truly uncomfortable. You start to get cracks in the skin on your hands and in your lips. I suffered for a long period of time before someone cued me into using a humidifier. All it does is take a small tank of purified water and releases the water into the air as vapor. Before you actually realize it, you can get the moisture levels to rise by huge amounts. I don’t believe it would be easy for me in the Winter season separate from having a humidifier regularly working. My wifey feels exactly as I do, we both severely dislike having lips so chapped that nothing short of medicated chapstick will repair them. Best of all, humidifiers are not too pricey to use while they work around the clock. They’re a must have for me while in our intense nippy seasons.
