Dropping hints about HVAC to husband for anniversary

This week, I started one more tactic to bring air quality to the forefront of his mind

I’ve been told many times that I’m not your average girly girl. I’ve never gone to a salon to have my nails done, I’ve never gone tanning, and the last time a professional cut my hair was about 15 years ago. I can take care of these things myself, and I’m not prissy enough to care about every last detail of my personal appearance. In fact, I’m a lot more worried about my health and comfort than anything. That’s why, when my husband asks what I wanted for my 50th anniversary, I told him that I desperately wanted an HVAC upgrade. This wouldn’t be the first time that I’ve tried to secure better air quality control devices for our house. However, he never wants to spend the cash for a professional HVAC technician to inspect our existing central heating and cooling system or recommend new models of furnaces and air conditioners that we might want to purchase. Instead, we live year after year with our same god-awful indoor air handling devices and decreasing air quality. I think it’s fairly obvious that an HVAC upgrade is needed. It seems shocking to me that I even need to hint at my husband about our failing furnace and air conditioning system, but I’m not giving up. Each day I mention the indoor air quality, point out mildew growing in the corners, or talk about some HVAC expert on twitter. It doesn’t seem to work. This week, I started one more tactic to bring air quality to the forefront of his mind. Each morning I overwhelm our indoor air and air handling equipment with the nasty perfume that he bought me for our last anniversary. The failing HVAC system can’t effectively disperse it from his personal office and he keeps complaining of headaches. Let’s see if air quality still doesn’t matter.
