I appreciated the law classes I opted for when I was in college.
My number one case was a crazy case about a lady who brought a civil litigation suit against a woman and her trees. Apparently, the tree leaves were falling into her yard and causing a lot of extra labor for her and her wife. She claimed that there was so much extra labor from the leaves that she and her wife didn’t have any time together. She was so tired at night that she fell asleep before she was done with her shower. She had a lawyer and she honestly went to court over this. The lawyer took her civil litigation case and she ran with it. They were asking for compensation for the loss of marital closeness. They asked for multiple minutes of weekly pay for multiple weeks, for cleaning her leaves up. They were demanding that the tree limbs be cut, if they hung over her yard. I couldn’t guess it when I found out the civil litigation case went her way. She won her payment for the lack of marital closeness and was awarded 1 dollar. The lawyer argued about the small amount and the judge told him that it was fair. When the civil litigation case was over the lady with all the cleaning of the leaves received 10 dollars compensation, which was payable immediately from the tree owner. The lawyer’s fees had to be paid by the tree owner and she had to trim back the branches. She moved out of the condo 3 weeks later and only paid the 10 dollars
