Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C savings are greater the tighter your home is

It wasn’t too long ago that I was randomly given a temperature gun.

This is one of those handheld devices that show you the temperature of any surface it is pointed at.

Of course, I was given this thing as a gag gift. Around the office, I am known to be the one who regulates the temperature by monitoring the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C temperature control. Part of our position with our supplier is to manage all manor of waste whether it be energy or manpower. I am charged with streamlining plus maintaining the maximum efficiency of our office. So, I make sure the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C temperature is at a conservative but comfortable setting. I don’t acquiesce to the factions that want the office super heated or super cooled. Anyway, I was absolutely quite pleased to get the temp gun. While I laughed along with everyone else, I was secretly ecstatic to be getting this thing because I had been planning to purchase one. With Wintertide coming, I wanted to go about finding the places in our condo that were allowing cold air in plus the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C treated air to leak out. After some research online, the best way was to get a temp gun plus scour the exterior of our condo to find the leaks. Once it got cool enough to have the oil furnace on, I went outside with our new, trusty temperature gun. Right away, I was stunned to see all the areas on the exterior of our condo that were pouring out Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C treated air. I could hardly believe it but, I marked each plus every spot. It took about a month of our spare time to seal up all those spots. However, it was well worth it. The Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C weekly utility bill was nearly 20 percent less than the previous year!
