The older I get, I never stop being amazed by our daughter.
- She is a full grown adult and almost 40 years old, and somehow still she says and does things that make myself and others so proud of her on a weekly basis.
Recently, after she bought her first house, I realized she was having trouble finding a wooden table for this strangely sized and awkward section in her house. She legitimately wasn’t sure at that point if she wanted to decorate in a contemporary apartment style or wisely stick to traditional excellence at home. When nothing absolutely attracted her, she decided to try her hand at making custom built furniture here and there for her awkward little corner space. She decided against purchasing the cheap wooden table and went with a multi-purpose bar, custom built with concrete top. I considered the look more along the lines of magazine Worthy contemporary condo, but not completely. Once she finished that custom made furniture, she was hooked. She built myself and others a 4 post bed that suits our taste. It is sort of rustic meets traditional and the piece of furniture performs well and looks so good. The only problem is that it doesn’t come apart and will be next to impossible to move without taking off the door! My brother who lives in the northeast and prefers the southwest style asked her recently if she could build him some custom made furniture, as well. The oak furniture she created look amazing for his home office! He has been cheerful with the setup for years now. Even a friend of mine contacted her to create some custom built furniture. My gal built the wooden furniture part and someone else made the upholstery. It’s gorgeous!
