For work I do a lot of traveling to various cities. I noticed that I had quite a few clients right in the same city that I needed to meet with. Not only did I need to wine and dine clients, I had to sell products, learn the area and nab the sale. It was doable to say that for one client, it would take at least a month of work. Also, I had other clients in the area, making it almost a three month quest. Rather than jump on a plane multiple times in a month, I decided to just stay in the city. I found a month to month rental that was fully furnished. Work was willing to pay for quite a bit of the monthly rental. I used that money and matched it with my own. I ended up in a very high end and swanky short term rental. I was in a classy building right in the main city. I was within walking distance of all my clients. I could get drunk at the bars and stumble back to the apartment with no issue. The restaurants were right near me and there was a coffee shop that I could see from my window. I ended up only needing three months in the rental. It was three glorious months. I was able to live the high life while working and getting commission. I got to live a completely different lifestyle thanks to the month to month lease. I now have no issues traveling and staying in a location for work. It can be really fun getting to know the area and meet new people.
