I worked at the local pizza parlor for almost three years before I headed to college. I loved working there, even though my mom had her concerns when I first started. She was worried about my eating too much pizza and she worried about how hot it was going to be in the summer. She worried needlessly because the air conditioning in the pizza parlor was just as good as the air conditioning we had at home. The only time the heat of the ovens bothered us, was if we had to be right by them. Usually, the only ones who had to touch the ovens, were those that were over eighteen. The only time we had any problem with the air conditioning, coincidentally happened during the Super Bowl. We had customers flocking in all day long. During the normal rush hour, our business was so crowded that I was afraid they were going to have to come behind the counter for room. We were about half an hour into the rush when the temperature slowly began to go up. AFter half an hour, the temperature had climbed twenty degrees and it was getting really hot inside. The owner came over and told us to take turns in the walk-in refrigerator, while we waited for the HVAC company to fix the air conditioning unit. It was funny as we took our turning walking into the refrigerator and back out after two minutes, but it really made a difference. The HvAc company showed up quickly and he soon had the air conditioning running again. We all sent up a silent thank you as all of the ovens were turned back on.
