My wife and I went out of town last weekend and we stayed in a hotel.
We rarely stay overnight anywhere, because we have a very comfortable bed at home.
Still, we were both tired after a day of sailing with our friends. We knew that neither one of us would want to drive home, and we were right. It was a good thing that we already planned ahead and had a hotel room. With the regatta only a few days away, it would have been difficult to find a last minute reservation. My wife and I stayed in a hotel with 4½ stars. Most of the reviews were positive, except for a few people that were obviously upset about paying too much for breakfast. Everyone else had lots of good things to say about the staff, cleanliness of the room, and hotel amenities. My wife and I checked into the room shortly after 6 in the evening. We were going to have a nap before meeting some friends for dinner at 9. I turned on the HVAC units and set the thermostat to 70°. My wife got in the shower and I decided to stand in the bathroom and shave. When I finished shaving, I walked into the bedroom and the HVAC unit was off. I thought it was strange, but I simply turned it back on and set the thermostat again. I walked back into the bathroom to see if my wife was finished. I switched spots with her in the shower, so she could get dressed and brush her hair. If you are thinking the HVAC unit was off again, you would be correct. We were both completely weirded out.
