Working in the HVAC field can be very difficult work.
First of all, it’s always going to be a physically demanding job.
Whether the reason is working a long day or lifting a heavy furnace, the job is guaranteed to be exhausting. Most people can’t work in the HVAC field longer than 20 or 30 years. The body can’t take that much abuse. I worked in the HVAC field for 25 years before I decided to retire. I didn’t know what I would find to do after retiring, but I knew that I could no longer work as a repair technician. I searched for a job as a consultant, but I didn’t find any places hiring. I found an interesting advertisement for someone with HVAC experience to work at the hospital. I called the number for some additional information. They have a fully automated HVAC system in the hospital, and all of the monitors are in one central location. The hospital wanted someone with extensive HVAC experience to watch over the monitors. Honestly, it seemed like a computer job and not really a job for someone that had heating or cooling experience. I went to the interview and found out that the job was paying a huge salary. When the administrator offered me the job, I could not say no. I’ve been on the job for 7 days now and I can already see why they wanted someone with heating or cooling experience. If there is a problem with the monitors, it’s my job to assess the issue first. If I can’t solve the problem, then I call the maintenance team. I’m not sure if this job will work out for me.
