My wife is always insisting that we need to purchase a new gas furnace for our house.
Granted, our gas furnace is in pretty bad condition, when we bought our house, the gas furnace was in pretty good shape, and it wasn’t a new gas furnace, but it actually was a really good gas furnace, and the Heating, Ventilation and A/C professional that checked the gas furnace before we bought the home confirmed that we would get a long life out of this gas furnace is we had it tested properly by any of the local Heating, Ventilation and A/C professionals around town.
When we bought the house, we scheduled annual inspections for our gas furnace and left it up to them. However, in the last few years, the gas furnace has been giving us much more trouble. It isn’t like our gas furnace is dying, but it is not running and it was when I first bought it. I talked with the Heating, Ventilation and A/C professional, and he assured me that we could at least get a few more years out of the gas furnace without investing too much money into it. I told my wife what the Heating, Ventilation and A/C professional told me, although she insisted that she knew that the gas furnace was going to stop working this year… She had no good reason for doubting me or the Heating, Ventilation and A/C professional. Her only reasoning was that she had a bad feeling about our gas furnace. I would happily purchase a new gas furnace to make her feel better, but gas furnaces are expensive, and I really don’t want to drain our savings right now to purchase a new gas furnace that we might not need for a few years.
