They say that you should never cry over spilled milk, but can you cry when you accidentally melt your Christmas tree? I guess that this is what I get for putting my Christmas tree up at the start of September! However, I couldn’t help it… The temperatures were freezing outside, we had a snowstorm, and I was bored… Instead of wasting time, I turned on my furnace, turned on Christmas songs, and started putting up decorations. The first thing that I did was put up the tree. However, we had a cold living room, so I had to turn on a small area furnace in the living room to keep me warm while I did this. The area furnace was in the middle of the room, which turned out to be a terrible location looking back. This was because when I needed to hang the lights on the ceiling, the area furnace got in the way, so I had to move it. However, rather than moving the area furnace like a normal person, I decided to kick the area furnace behind me out of the way. The area furnace hadn’t quite heated up yet, and it didn’t burn my feet. I am not sure how I didn’t notice the smell of it burning the Christmas tree. I didn’t realize that there was an issue until the smoke detector went off. I turned around, and the area furnace was shoved up against the tree, and it was melting all of the fake branches off, now, I have to clean the area furnace and buy a new christmas tree.
