I caught my house on fire with my space heater, then well, I feel I didn’t genuinely catch my house on fire, but my space furnace did.
- I knew that I should not have been using a space furnace in my old house.
I planned to only use it for a few hours before I went to bed just to sizzling up my home office a little bit, even though it is July, it gets pretty chilly in my room at night. It doesn’t help that the two roommates that I have cherish keeping the house nice and chilly during the day, they have the thermostat set to sixty-five during the day, however my buddy and I turn the air conditioner off at night, but it still stays pretty cool in the house! Outside, it gets down to around sixty degrees at night. It is just too frigid for me. I grew up down south, and I just can’t take the cool weather absolutely well. I decided to start using a space furnace in my home office a few hours before I went to bed, and I was convinced that I would never forget to turn the space furnace off. Well, I did fine for about three weeks; then, I forgot. I left the space furnace on all night long, and I ended up being late for work the next afternoon, so I forgot to turn it off before I left for work. It ended up melting the outlet and then catching my room on fire somehow. The fire spread through most of the house before the fire department was able to put it out. Needless to say, I will never use a space furnace again.
