Friend buying their first home and debating whether to get central air conditioning

I am getting to the age where a lot of my friends are buying houses. Most of my friends live in their own apartments or their own homes but I still live with my parents. I am trying to save up a great amount of money and pay off as much of my student loans as I can so I can live in a home that I want to live in and not have to worry about scrambling for money because I still need to pay for my student loans. I have about a year-and-a-half until I am done paying my student loans; One of my best friends just bought their first house. I thought that my buddy jumped the gun on buying this home simply because the location was unquestionably convenient to where he worked. His home is seriously small and pretty old. I thought that the home was going to come with a lot of features, but it did not. The home does not have central air conditioning. When I went to help my buddy unpack and transport in, it was in the middle of Summer and we were perspiring. She was asking whether or not he should install central air conditioning by the time everything was moved in. I told his that to save money he really doesn’t have to install central air conditioning. It’s just going to cost his a few grand and since his home is so small he could install small window air conditioning units. Since his home is so small, installing window AC units was not only going to save his money but it would cool his home unquestionably abruptly.
