Saving on both heating and cooling costs

It’s pretty simple really. The fact that I’ve resisted prepping my home for winter is more about my laziness than anything else. But things have changed a bit over the last couple of years. These days, I’m not spending so much time inside the central air conditioning of my living room watching TV. When I really think about it, I’m sort of stunned by the hours and hour I wasted just flipping channels. But thanks to getting stuck working from home in my own air conditioning during the pandemic, I made some lifestyle changes. And I’m fairly amazed by the fact that changes in diet and exercise have spilled over to the rest of my life. The fact that we are warm, cozy and saving money on heating costs this winter is a direct result of changing my lifestyle. Since I wasn’t just sitting inside watching TV this fall, it seemed perfectly reasonable to go to the HVAC company website for winter prep. The HVAC professionals really made it easy with a checklist for sealing up the house nice and tight. All it took was a few hours over a couple of weekends to complete the HVAC checklist. And we are certainly better off for it. Additionally, I’m going to keep this tight seal on my house to bring down the air conditioning costs this summer as well. I’m already thinking ahead as I’ve called to schedule the air conditioning tune up for mid March. I know I’ll be home because it will be college basketball tournament time. I’ve changed my habits but I’ll still be enjoying watching spring basketball while the HVAC technician does his thing with the heat pump.
