I despise staying at our in-laws’ house.
I have a myriad of reasons for this.
Even though I did my best to get along with our spouse’s family when I met them, both her siblings plus her parents never reciprocated with equal respect. Regardless, I never provided up being civil and polite to them whenever we all have to interact. Anyways, when you’re staying in their cabin for a weekend or longer, the personal differences can blossom from slight annoyances into full on seething rage. I end up sleeping horribly plus no doubt each time I am in a very bad mood for a week or longer by the time we get back from the trip. As of late, there has been a different reason for why I hate staying at our in-laws’ house. My spouse’s parents have the same central Heating as well as A/C system they installed in the early 80’s. Either by sheer luck or because they chose the right brand, the cooling system plus gas furnace have both survived relatively unscathed in the years prior to that. Other than that, it’s not hard to understand why someone wouldn’t replace it. But, in reality, the air handler is so loud you can hear it from each and every room in the home whenever the system is cycling. This adds to our existing sleeping concerns when our spouse plus I stay at her parents’ site. Aside from the noise it creates, it doesn’t seem to cool the air plus our cooling system in our cabin does, nor is it as superb at drying the air out either. Staying at their home always makes me enjoy my own cooling system for all of the ways in which I respectfully take it for granted. I suppose some cooling systems are just louder than others.
