Selling the house came with HVAC upgrade

I’m better now that it’s all over.

But the fact that we are no longer in our family home is going to take more than months for me to get accustomed to.

I spent more than 25 years inside the central air conditioning of that house. And my husband and I raised four kids there as well. Once the last one was off to college, the house seemed so big and empty. The heating and cooling costs for my husband and I were ridiculous. All of the upkeep and costs for a house that size made no sense for two people. But it was hard for me to accept the fact that I would have to leave the home where I raised my children. I finally had to face facts when it became clear that our heating and cooling equipment was no longer producing high quality heating and air. The heat pump was falling far behind demand and seemed to have to run all the time in order to keep up at all. Fortunately, that doesn’t matter much during the winter because we don’t need much heating. But last summer, I knew the heat pump was done. My husband and I agreed that once we had to do any kind of major upgrade, we were going all the way and listing the house. That’s pretty much what we’ve been doing for the last 6 months. We installed new residential HVAC with the latest in HVAC technology. There were plenty of other projects my husband and I could do to improve the value of our home. It didn’t take but two weeks once it was on the market before we got full asking price. At least we got to enjoy that wonderful HVAC equipment while we were packing to move out.
