It was way overdue but having new commercial HVAC at the office is making such a huge difference in my day.
Not only for me but for the rest of my colleagues.
I work inside an office with roughly 50 other people. Outside of a couple of private offices and two conference rooms, we’re all in cubicles. For the longest time, we had to deal with just one thermostat setting for the entire floor. This was complicated by the fact that we had floor to ceiling windows all around. On top of that, there were pretty dramatic differences when it came to the thermostat setting preference. Ultimately, the thermostat was set where no one was really happy. For those of us who wanted more air conditioning, it was too hot. And for those who were on the chilly side, it was far too cold. Our company was recently purchased by new ownership. To their credit, the commercial HVAC of the office was one of the first things to be addressed by the new management. It wasn’t a week before we had HVAC professionals working around the office to replace and upgrade the commercial HVAC equipment. Not only is it new heating and cooling equipment, but we also now have zone controlled HVAC. The new management actually suggested that we group our cubes in a way that we can take advantage of the zone controlled HVAC. It really is amazing that something so basic can make such a great difference when it comes to doing my job. When I’m comfortable with the quality heating and air, I’m much more comfortable while doing my work. Our overall quality of work as a team has never been better.
