My cat's fur damaged my air conditioning unit

They are a handful though and without proper care for them and my home things can get damaged.

I love my two cats. They are my world and I might someday be that crazy cat lady but who knows, right? Jack and Jill are their names and I have had them with me since I graduated from college. They came from the same litter and I couldn’t separate them when I saw them at the SPCA. They were cuddled up with each other staring out the glass window as adults and kids alike walked by looking for their forever pet. Jack was missing an eye and he always trusted Jill to make the first move. They both were at this SPCA for about two months and no one wanted to take them. I understand why because they were a package deal and the SPCA didn’t think anyone would take Jack on his own. I have been in a five year relationship with these two for a while now and don’t see anyone getting in the way. I know this one guy tried dating me but when he said he was allergic to cats that was the end of that relationship. I dated that guy for almost a month. I learned that day I need to let people know I have them so we both don’t waste our time. They are a handful though and without proper care for them and my home things can get damaged. Recently I had an HVAC technician come to my house because my air conditioning unit stopped working. I found out because of a few years of build up in the air filters from the fur has caused damage and the a/c repairman had to order new parts to do a repair job. I love my cats but going forward I have to maintain proper cleanliness as well.
