But, they couldn’t fix the furnace
I was tired of living in an apartment with three other roommates. It seemed that I had spent my entire life living with other people and I wanted to finally get my own home. I thought about finding a place for rent, but I couldn’t believe what they were charging for rents. The cheapest apartment I could find, was over $1000 a month. I knew I had to find something cheaper and I talked to my best friend. He told me that he was only paying $700 a month for mortgage. I thought that would be perfect for me. I went out and bought a house without thinking it through first. I didn’t realize that I would not only be paying mortgage, but I would also be paying for all of the utilities. I also didn’t think about what would happen if I had anything that needed to be repaired and the fact that I would have to pay for it. The first breakdown I incurred was not just a major breakdown, but it was also the beginning of my breakdown. My furnace went out in the middle of a snowstorm. I couldn’t turn to someone to come fix the furnace, because it was my responsibility. I had no one who would take me to their house so I could be warm. I had to wait in the house until the HVAC company came to fix the furnace. But, they couldn’t fix the furnace. I had to wait for them to bring a new furnace and have it installed. I’m already tired of the responsibility of homeownership and I want to rent an apartment.
