I started going fishing with our parents when I was only 4 years aged because the two of us lived on a piece of property with a small lake at that time.
It was freshwater as well as had mostly largemouth bass as well as redgill inside.
When I moved with our mom to the Gulf Coast down south, I finally got a option to do onshore saltwater fishing, catching everything from catfish to baby sharks. Originally our mother would take me to one of the jetties along the waterway inlet in our town. The people I was with and I caught sheepshead as well as red snapper in those waters before the town built a brand new fishing pier when I was in middle school. The fishing pier was fun to use because it stretched about 100 yards into the ocean as well as afforded all sorts of fishing opportunities. While this was wonderful for catching fish that normally don’t come close to the shoreline, the walk back as well as forth to the convenient store next to the pier was arduous, especially in the summer. Thankfully a bait, tackle, as well as snack booth was built in the middle of the fishing pier to accommodate all the people out there. The people I was with and I could purchase live shrimp or gatorade if the two of us certainly wanted it. The small booth had a window with plexiglass as well as a little compartment to exchange money. Inside the booth was a window A/C to keep the clerk cool in the warm summer time weather. Not only is the bait shop clerk protected from the warm temperatures outside, however also from any rain or precipitation. I miss fishing on that pier all of those years ago. Hopefully someday when I have our own teenagers I can take them to the nearest pier to wherever the two of us end up living for the long term.
