Our HVAC heating and cooling unit finally stopped working for good.
There are no more repairs to be made or parts to be replaced.
It was time to invest in a new HVAC system. It couldn’t quite make it through the end of summer but, it was close and I am grateful for that. In my mind, I figured that someone would simply show up and just attach a new HVAC system to our house and off we would go. That is how naive I can be about household appliance issues. I wish I had known the reality of the situation because I would have attempted to prepare a bit more. It was still quite warm through the day but, we were able to get by with just fans in the evening. I was also fortunate to have contacted a very competent HVAC contractor. The man was a complete professional. He was at our home for quite a while simply measuring and asking us questions about how we preferred our HVAC comfort settings. Then, our luck ran out just a bit. The HVAC contractor found several areas where the ductwork was too deteriorated to be useful. This was an expense that I did not forsee at all. However, the home was well over 40 years old so, in that perspective, it made some sense. This further held up the process. The HVAC crew was able to save about one third of the duct system. After all that, I am at least happy to know that we won’t have to worry about our HVAC system again for some time to come.
