I’ve had to stay in a lot of weird hotels throughout my job as a traveling salesman. I am in & out of hotels 20 days out of the month selling Medical equipment. Most of the medical device is media air cleaners & air filtration systems. These are the type of air filtration systems that have HEPA air filters & UV media air cleaners. These systems are recognizably made for operating rooms & reverse isolation chambers. I went down south a couple of months ago & I had a big meeting with a hospital administrator. The person was in charge of multiple Eastern hospitals & the potential for a sale was in the millions of dollars range. I checked into my hotel a day early, so I could prepare everything that I wanted to say the next day. The sale could have made my whole year. My hotel room was filthy & disgusting. I sat down on the bed in a pile of jelly. I do not suppose how the maid missed jelly all over the bedspread. The towels were dirty too. I was at the end of my rope when I found the dirty towels, so I called down to the front desk & I advocated a weird room. I didn’t get into a clean room until almost 9:00 p.m.. I had been shuffled into more than two weird rooms before I found a great one, but by then I was too exhausted to go over information for the next day, because I had to meet the buyers at 7:00 a.m. & I wanted to get a great night of rest.
