Every other weekend, I have to be responsible for answering the phone when a customer calls for heat pump or A/C repairs. The two of us do not get a lot of clients that absolutely want service on Friday or Friday evening, but the two of us are available for emergency services. The two of us do not charge any extra fees for emergency services as long as the customer’s account is in superb standing. I was the professional on call last weekend plus the phone rang on Friday evening. I had the ringer off on our own phone earlier that day. I was fixing an A/C unit plus our ex-wifey kept calling me. I turned off the ringer so I wouldn’t get so many text alerts plus message things. When I missed the labor phone plus our boss could not reach myself and others on our own phone, I got into serious trouble. I realized that I had missed a call in the day plus I also had several missed calls from our boss. I tried to explain the reason why I missed the call for heat pump plus A/C repairs, but our boss was not particularly interested in hearing our excuses. She told myself and others that the problem cannot happen again or I will have to look for a job anywhere else. It seems a little severe, because I haven’t ever missed a call plus I have been laboring for the heat pump plus A/C service supplier for a year. I should have been given the benefit of the doubt when it came to our excuse. I think I gained that much from the girl in a year.
