I put a window air conditioner in my son’s treehouse to use in August every year

My son absolutely loves his new treehouse, but he was fairly impatient during the two months it took me to complete the project.

The problem is that I am always short on time outside of my normal working hours.

I wish that I could spend more time with my family and do more projects and upgrades around the house, but it’s going to be like this for another year until I can secure a better job at a competing company. My wife understands and encourages me, but I’m not sure if my kids are as forgiving. They can’t help but see only what is right in front of their eyes, they don’t have the years of living that teaches one how to be patient and wait for things to come before becoming convinced of a particular state of affairs. At least my son seemed fairly thankful once the project was finally completed. Not only did he love the treehouse itself, but he was also thrilled when I gave him an old window air conditioner to use during the hottest summer month for our area—August. It’s an expensive amenity to use outdoors, so that’s why I tried to insulate his treehouse. That way it isn’t freezing there during the winter season either. I’m considering putting in radiant flooring before the first winter freeze because the floor in the tree house is still rough and unfinished. I think radiant flooring would be an amazing surprise for my son later this year. No doubt his treehouse is going to be the talk of the entire neighborhood.
