The two of us had a close call at condo last week, and it’s a fantastic reminder that I shouldn’t be messing around with certain things… Ever since I got laid off I have been doing more chores around the house.
I handle the laundry and the dishes, the shopping, plus all the yard work and handyman genre tasks. I enjoy to believe I am more handy than I entirely am, and this can get myself and others into trouble; Case in point, Last weekwhen I messed around with the electrical method and caused an issue with the Heating and A/C system. I split a wire, which fell against the side of some ductwork, and that in turn shorted out the entire method in dramatic fashion. I myself had been touching section of the ductwork, which was made of metal, and got a nasty jolt. I might have been electrocuted if the grid hadn’t fried and shut down all the power, and replacing the circuits and fuzes was simple, but after the power was restored both of us found that the Heating and A/C method was dead. That power surge through the ductwork had gotten into the main components of the Heating and A/C method and fried them, only these were fuses I could not replace myself; After getting badly shocked I realized I was in over our head and contacted a local Heating and A/C business to come inspect our system. The results were ugly, and costly, despite the fact that I have no option other than trusting the Heating and A/C business and letting him do his work. The two of us all see what happened when I tried to handle it myself!
