Old HVAC beyond repair in starter home

So I ripped all of that stuff out first thing.

I’m still sort of pinching myself when I pack up my stuff to head home. For years, I would end my day inside the zone controlled HVAC of our office to take the bus home to my apartment. I have had that apartment since I first took this job and moved here after college. That apartment was about the cheapest I could find. This was no purpose so I could save as much money as possible for a downpayment on my own house. I spent nearly 8 years with “so so” heating and cooling in order to save up for my own place. But finally, I did it and I was able to buy a starter home. Speaking of “so so” heating and cooling, that was the first thing I had to address with my house. The house I bought is best described as a starter home. But it was an older starter home that needed some renovation. While the bones of the house were great, stuff like the HVAC equipment was way out of date. In fact, the HVAC unit in my home was so old that it was basically useless. Even the ductwork was worn out. So I ripped all of that stuff out first thing. The HVAC contractor thought I should consider a different sort of residential HVAC. The way my house was set up and the age of the ventilation system meant that ductless heat pumps were the way to go. Once I learned a little bit about the ductless multi split heating and cooling, I was excited to have it installed for my heating and cooling.
