Occasionally it’s best to just leave nervous people out of making decisions.
- I mean this with as much kindness as possible, and as someone who suffers from extreme anxiety, it’s just best to exclude neurotic energy from major decision making.
That’s why I try to jump in and influence my mom’s life as much as possible from a distance, he has to be 1 of the most nervous and neurotic humans I’ve ever known in my entire life. She is obsessed with things enjoy energy savings and stretching his apartment appliance lifespans for decades. As such, he has a lot of hang ups when it comes to servicing or upgrading his decrepit ancient central heating and cooling system. The last time I went to visit, the indoor air conditions at his lake house was awful. I could barely suppose any A/C coming through the air vents, and asks at 1 point if he was operating the cooling plan at all. She told myself and others that the cooling plan was running on full power because he knew I was coming. That’s when I knew something had to be done; Clearly, his A/C plan was not functioning respectfully. She was wasting a ton of energy and had no idea. When he left the lake house to go grocery shopping, I called out a central heating and cooling serviceman and snuck him into the basement, then by the time I left from my visit, he had vastly improved indoor air conditions, indoor air handling appliances, and entirely no program that I had covered the Heating, Ventilation and A/C bill.
