Today is one of those days where I’d like to be an author working on his latest fictional book while sitting by the fireplace, and outside it is cold and blustery with some light snow flurries. Everyone is hunkered down in their homes trying to keep warm because the weatherman said we are going to have some of the coldest days on record. It’s a safe feeling, being in the house with the furnace keeping you warm, while outside mother nature heaves her worst cold weather on us. It always reminds me of Bondi Beach in Australia with the houses sitting on the cliff, overlooking the ocean, and my mind imagines a writer writing away while she looks out onto the vast sea in search of the next chapter. I stayed there for a month with my friend and we made a bunch of fires in the fireplace and talked about life and laughed a lot at the whole joke of it all. I tried writing a few books but never could seem to finish them, I guess that is what a ghostwriter is for. Maybe one day I’ll hire someone. For now, I will work on my HVAC system today to try and figure out why it stopped heating up the flat. I think there is something wrong with the heat pump or heat strip, whichever one it has. I may need to call someone because it could be more involved than I think it is. And besides, I don’t have all of the HVAC equipment to repair my unit anyways.
