I wanted to upgrade my thermostat.
It was one of those old dial thermostats, and most of the numbers had worn off. There wasn’t a thermometer on the thermostat, and it was no longer reliable. I asked my brother to go to the home center with me so I could see what kind of thermostats they had. I thought it may be cheaper to purchase a thermostat at the store than to purchase one from the HVAC company. We went through every thermostat they had. There were several digital thermostats, but nothing I felt comfortable using. Some of the thermostat recommended that they be installed by an electrician, but most of them said it was recommended that the thermostat be installed by a HVAC technician. If I had to have the HVAC technician come to the house and install the thermostat, I may as well just order the thermostat from the HVAC company. My brother and I reluctantly went back home and I called the HVAC company. The HVAC technician that came to the house, brought several different models of thermostats with him. Unfortunately, most of what he brought were smart thermostats which is exactly what I did not want. He had one digital thermostat that was easy to program and I could see the light up display. It took him about fifteen minutes to install the thermostat, and I was ready to go. I love the new thermostat and I’m glad I chose the digital one. I can’t believe the difference between this thermostat and my old one. I can read it, and the temperature is right on. It only took a few days for me to master the programming. It was the best decision I could have made.
