When I bought my home, I knew it was small, but I was the only one who was going to be living there.
I also knew that I would have special needs because of the size of my house. I couldn’t have large appliances and I couldn’t go with a traditional HVAC system. I also had to go with smaller furniture or I wouldn’t have room to move. The house was so nice, however, that I didn’t care about these small inconveniences. When the HVAC system in my home started to give me trouble, I called the HVAC company. The HVAC technician said I could have the ductwork hand-crafted, but I knew hand-crafted was synonymous with expensive. He began talking about a little less traditional HVAC equipment. The one that stood out in my mind was the ductless HVAC system. There was no ductwork to be hand-crafted. I didn’t need to worry about where I was placing the air conditioning unit, or how I was going to find a furnace that would fit into my tiny crawl space of a basement. With the ductless HVAC system, I had a small unit at the top of the wall inside, and another unit on the outside of the house. There was very little maintenance, and it was more efficient in heating, cooling, and energy use, than most other HVAC systems. The HVAC technician smiled when I said I was interested in a ductless HVAC system. Within a week, he had the ductless HVAC system ordered, and it was delivered to the house. All I had to do was wait for the HVAC team to come and install it for me.
