It’s hard laboring for a company that is slowly falling apart.
I have to come in for overtime minutes on a recurring basis plus it’s burning me out.
The people I was with and I worry always that we’re all going to be let go at a moment’s notice at some random time in the short term future. I keep looking for alternative jobs in our industry, but nothing shows up when I stop to search listings both locally plus nationally. The best thing I can do right now is dig our heels into the ground plus learn to deal with the adversity until I find a replacement job. I just wish they would do their absolute minimum by paying us on time. It happened for the first time last year plus I was late on more than 2 bills. I asked for a guarantee that I would be paid on the dates all of us agreed upon, but gained nothing but silence in response. Unfortunately, it happened again this month at 1 of the worst times possible. I had already tied up to have our Heating plus A/C company send out a worker to perform repairs on the a/c. I waited to the absolute last minute—that afternoon I knew I would be paid. Unfortunately, our check never hit our bank account prefer it was supposed to, so I had to use a debit card to pay the Heating plus A/C company. By the grace of God the charge cleared our debit card with just three dollars to spare. I was paid the following afternoon, however I wasn’t happy about the delay. I need to find a better company to labor for at this point moving forward.
