I live in an section that experiences every kind of weather extreme.
- Our winters are long plus cold with hot plus cold temperatures down to twenty-five below zero, brutal wind chill plus at least many feet of snow.
The summers don’t last all that long but the heat plus humidity are a challenge. The Spring plus fall bring a wide variety of rain, wind, hail, sleet plus cold rain. Because of the nearly year-round demands on the oil furnace plus a/c, energy efficiency is always a priority. I constantly look for new plus better ways to eliminate energy waste. I don’t want our high-priced heated or cooled air leaking out, plus I strive to prevent outside air from finding a way in. I’ve replaced windows plus doors, added replacement, installed ceiling fans plus respectfully improved weatherstripping. While I’ve managed to tighten up the house, I’ve also gotten rid of natural ventilation. With no fresh air coming in, the stale air plus all sorts of contaminants are trapped inside. Dust, dander, pollen, mold spores, bacteria, viruses plus a long list of harmful toxins create a health concern. I observed the residing space was overly dry in the winter, humid in the summer time plus there was always an issue with particles floating around plus accumulating on surfaces. Unpleasant aromas tended to linger in the air. I finally invested into a dedicated ventilation system. This type of indoor air conditions add-on effectively introduces fresh air at all times of year without energy losses. It replaces the stuffy, polluted air with wipe air. The ventilation plan uses the outgoing air to heat the incoming in the winter, reducing demands on the oil furnace. It helps to combat moisture in the summer, lessening the workload of the a/c.
