One of my neighbors has absolutely no furnace in their house! But they need furnaces in their house.
Have you ever met people whose standard of living is not that great? You try to help them out, but they are so used to the way that they live that they can’t ever seem to learn to get out of it.
My neighbor is like this. He has had a broken furnace in his home for two years, but he has done absolutely nothing about it. Instead of using the money that he had to purchase a new furnace and have an HVAC technician install it, he blew the money and realized his mistake. Instead of having a working furnace, my neighbor decided to purchase a couple of space heaters to attempt to heat his home. Over the last two years, he has accumulated an impressive collection of space heaters for his house. Currently, he has one space heater in every bedroom in his house, and the major rooms in his house have two space heaters. He may have solved the problem of having a cold house, but he did not solve the financial problem of needing a new furnace. Furnaces are very efficient at heating houses, and space heaters aren’t. In fact, he probably spends close to 600 dollars a month heating his house with space heaters. He has a very large house, and the space heaters seem to be running 24/7 in order to keep his house at a comfortable temperature. The electric bill has become so massive that I don’t think that he will ever be able to afford a new furnace.
